Role & Responsibility of ZED Assessor
(Silver & Gold)

The quality and credibility of the certification highly depend on the assessor’s judgment and reporting. Therefore, it is obligatory for the assessor to perform their duties with integrity, professionalism, and technical accuracy.

The ZED Assessor is responsible for conducting on-site (physical) assessments of MSMEs under the ZED Certification Scheme at Silver and Gold levels. The assessor acts as an independent auditor, ensuring that the evaluation is accurate, transparent, and in line with the guidelines issued by QCI.

Role of ZED Assessor

  • Conduct physical (on-site) assessment of MSME units
  • Verify implementation of ZED parameters and practices
  • Evaluate documents, processes, and actual shop-floor conditions
  • Interact with MSME representatives and management
  • Identify gaps and provide observations
  • Prepare and submit accurate assessment reports

Preparations before Taking Up Independent Assessment Roles

  • Candidates are required to gain practical exposure through on-site assessments as an Observer
    • Attend 1–2 Gold level on-site assessments as an Observer
    • Then conduct 5–6 Gold level on-site assessments
    • Attend 1–2 Silver level assessments as an Observer
    • Thereafter proceed for independent Silver level assessments
  • This hands-on experience helps in:
    • Understanding real-time assessment procedures
    • Learning documentation and evaluation methods

Code of Conduct & Compliance

ZED Assessors must strictly follow RSJ’s Code of Conduct (COC) and Compliance Program. If you are working with RSJ, then you agree to these terms- 

  • I have received, reviewed, and understood the Code of Conduct for ZED Assessors (the “Code”) of ZED Division, QCI. 
  • I hereby agree to comply with this Code, including its provisions for nondisclosure of information both during and after being empanelled with RSJ Inspection Service Ltd. 
  • To the best of my knowledge, I am not involved in any situation that conflicts or might appear to conflict with the Code. 
  • I also agree to notify ZED Division, QCI, and RSJ Inspection Service Ltd. immediately of any change that might adversely affect my compliance with the Code.
